Emergency Preparedness Plan Action

Much of the United States has experienced a weather emergency this week. Home health agencies and hospices are required to document the events if they enacted another aspect of their emergency preparedness program—in addition to the COVID pandemic.

Remember to keep track of expenses such as rental of generators for power, purchases of supplies, etc.  Following this event, don’t forget to complete an After Action Report to document the steps taken and what processes went well and those that need revisions.  Recent state surveys have focused heavily on emergency preparedness as well as infection control measures.  Don’t get cited for lack of documentation!
